Specialist in Endodontics
Dr Andrew Watson was awarded a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Kings College London in 1974. He gained his Master of Science Degree from UMDS London in 1990. In 1992 Dr Watson
became a Member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. He gained his Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of London and Glagow in 1997 and
was subsequently admitted to the Specialist List in Endodontics by the General Dental Council in 1998.
Dr Watson’s first appointment in 1975 was as an Associate at a General Dental Practice in
Warrington, Cheshire. He fulfilled the role of Resident House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial
Surgery at King’s College Hospital London, in 1976. In 1977 Dr Watson joined the Royal Navy as
a Dental Officer for an eight year Short Career Commission and subsequently upon leaving the
Royal Navy became a Principal in a General Dental Practice in Wiltshire from 1985 to 2003. In
1990 Dr Watson became a Endodontic Referral Practitioner in Wiltshire and was the Senior
Dental Officer to National Power PLC in Swindon. Dr Watson has been accepting referrals as a
Specialist Endodontist in the North West since 2004 and from 2006 at St Ann’s Dental Clinic in
Manchester.
Dr Watson has had an ongoing commitment to postgraduate teaching since 1989. He is a
respected contributor to many Postgraduate courses nationally and has been involved with the
vocational training schemes in Swindon and Guildford. Since moving to the North West Dr
Watson has been involved in the Masters and MClinDent Endodontic programmes at
Manchester University and has responsibility for teaching the Endodontic element of the
restorative courses at St Ann’s Clinic. He has a continuing commitment to GDP courses
nationally including Addenbrooks Cambridge, Charing Cross, Guy's, King’s, St Thomas’s and
Welwyn Garden City.
Dr Watson also has experience in second opinion and report writing and provides expert
witness reports for insurance and legal organizations.
Outside of his professional commitments Dr Watson enjoys renovating a
17th Century farmhouse and some amateur land management.
